Pro Blade: Turf for Sport & High-Traffic Play
A 65 ounce nylon yarn on a 1 inch pile, shorter and thinner than the rest of the lineup so cleats and repeated footfall do not lay it flat. American-made, starting at $8.50 per square foot installed.
What's Actually in Pro Blade
Pro Blade is the one product in our lineup built from nylon rather than polyethylene, on a diamond-shaped monofilament yarn. Nylon has a much higher melting point, which is exactly what a surface needs when it is taking repeated impact from cleats, balls, or heavy foot traffic rather than casual walking.
- Face weight: 65 oz/yd²
- Pile height: 1 inch
- Color: Turf Green Cool
- Cross-section: Diamond monofilament (nylon)

Best For
Backyard Sport Courts
Soccer, football, lacrosse, volleyball, or a general play surface where the ground needs to stay fast and even, without the divots and undulations a natural grass sport surface develops over a season.
Kids' Play Areas
Shorter pile and a resilient nylon yarn hold up to daily running, jumping and repeated impact better than a taller landscape blade would.
Pairs Well With a Landscape Blade
Most Pro Blade installs are a defined section of a larger yard, paired with ForeverBlade or Pacific Blend for the rest of the lawn. We plan the transition line at your design consultation.
What Pro Blade Costs
Residential turf starts at $8.50 per square foot installed, across six price tiers. Your free design consultation includes a physical sample of Pro Blade so you can feel it before deciding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Nylon holds its shape and resists heat better under repeated impact than the polyethylene used in our landscape blades, and it melts at a much higher temperature. That is why it is the material of choice for a surface that gets cleats, repeated footfall, or ball bounce rather than casual foot traffic.
Soccer, football, lacrosse, volleyball, backyard sport courts, and any play area that sees more repeated impact than a normal lawn. The 1 inch pile is shorter than our landscape blades on purpose, so the surface stays fast and consistent instead of matting down.
You can, but most homeowners choose it specifically for a dedicated sport surface or play area and pair it with ForeverBlade or Pacific Blend for the rest of the yard. Your free design consultation is where we help you decide whether one blade or a mix makes sense for your layout.
